Spending quality time with your child

Every  parents goal is to raise a happy and healthy child. There are many books which provides information about different ways of raising children successfully. Experts in their respective fields strive to give parents the most up to date information whether it is about health, nutrition, child development, education, or parenting. But one simple thing we all tend to overlook is, children from birth to adulthood need time and attention from their parents.

Sometimes its really difficult for working parents to spend time with their kids. From my personal experience, being a full-time working mother can lead to feelings of guilt and stress because of divided attention between work and family. The best gift you can give your child is your love, time and attention. Here are list of  simple things  I do everyday to spend quality time with my child.

Meal Time

Meal Time can be family time, here you can not only bond with your child but also other family members. During the meal, children and adolescents can be encouraged to talk about what is interesting to them, and not necessarily the usual topics like school and work.

Another way for spending time with your child is while doing their school assignment, you can help your child with their work. You can further know about their weakness and their interest . Kids do better in school when parents are involved in their academic lives.

Bed Time Stories

Bed time stories have been long known for parent-child bonds and also prepare children for sleep. Stories also helps kids to inspire creativity and imagination, sharpen child’s memory and improve their listening.

Attend school events together

Never miss attending your kid’s school events. Go to sports events and concerts, student exhibitions, parent-teacher meetings, parents’ night, and awards events. You can know more about your child by doing so, when parents get involved in their children’s education, children are more likely to do better in school, be better behaved, have more positive attitudes toward school, and grow up to be more successful in life.
